Newtown, Pa. – NuShield, Inc., the leading manufacturer of non-adhesive screen protectors for handheld and portable computers and PDAs, has introduced a new film that helps to protect electronic devices used in law enforcement, fire, EMT and other public safety vehicles.
Police, fire and EMT departments are starting to deploy computers in their vehicles to help find locations and interact with base command. The laptops being used and other interactive devices have an LCD screen display. Some devices have a touch screen software program that requires constant tapping to enter information. However, the LCD screens were not made to stand up to the abuse that comes with daily use under some harsh conditions.
The cost of replacing LCD screens can be astronomical and a more cost-effective solution had to be found. NuShield created a barrier film that can protect these screens without distorting the image, and can be easily installed, removed and serviced in the field. These films also protect the LCD display screen from dirt, soot, grime, liquid spills and food stains.
NuShield films currently support the Motorola MW800, Panasonic Toughbook series laptops and tablets, Data911 terminal, Mentor Engineering Ranger and Stryder devices, Trimble handheld and Datalux Tracer devices and most laptop computers. NuShield is also working with other manufacturers to expand its product offering. NuShield Inc. has global distribution of its product line and also sells directly to consumers on its website at www.NuShield.com. The company also custom manufactures films to fit any electronic device that has an LCD or touch screen display.
