Newtown, Pa. – NuShield, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been selected as an Official Product Partner of Stewart-Haas Racing. The company is helping the team to eliminate the reflective glare on the McLaren Digital Race Dash instrument panel in the cars of Kevin Harvick, Danica Patrick, Tony Stewart and Kurt Bush.. The NuShield Triple A® anti-glare film is placed over the panel area and minimizes the glare, enabling the driver to clearly read the panel, even with the racing helmet and shield in place.
Starting with the 2016 season, competitors in the NASCAR’s Premier Series had to adopt the McClaren Digital Dash, an electronic display system that replaced the traditional analog gauges used to record RPMs, fuel pressure and other diagnostics. The new system provides drivers and crew chiefs a comprehensive and accurate understanding of what’s happening with their racecar. However, these digital dash panels use an LCD display that reflects glare from sunlight during the day or when racing lights at night bounces off the display.
Stewart-Haas Racing turned to NuShield for a solution to minimize the glare and make the digital dash easier to read. “NuShield’s Triple A film has proven to be a ‘must-have’ with the introduction of the digital dash we now use in all of our racecars,” said Greg Zipadelli, Vice President of Competition, Stewart-Haas Racing. “Our drivers need to be able to quickly read the information available to them, so clarity is key. The NuShield film dramatically cuts down glare, allowing the resolution of the digital dashboard to stand out and not be compromised.” Since installing the NuShield film the team has won several races during the 2016 racing season and several top 10 finishes.
The NuShield anti-glare film is cut precisely to size and installs easily. The slightly tacky backing holds the film to the display, but can be quickly removed and exchanged without leaving unsightly bubbles that can interfere with visibility. “Our military grade screen protector films have been used in a wide variety of applications, from the battlefield to hospitals, the office and home,” said Andrew Serenyi, Vice President of Marketing and Sales, NuShield, Inc. “Airplane pilots, boat captains, motorcycle riders, car drivers and now NASCAR drivers use NuShield to eliminate glare from their GPS devices and instrument panels for better visibility.”
NuShield, Inc. has been one of the leading manufacturers of custom-made screen protector films. Our films can be used in the harshest environments to protect electronic display screens. The company offers several film types for various market needs. The DayVue™ anti-reflective screen protector allows users to clearly read their displays while working outdoors in direct sunlight or while wearing polarized sunglasses. The Triple A anti-glare screen protector works well indoors or in shaded areas to eliminate reflection. The Triple A also has an anti-microbial coating that kills germs on the surface for health care applications and can be cleaned using harsh chemicals. And the Triple A screen protector also hides fingerprints on the display.
Both films are just six mils thick and don’t interfere with a device’s touch-screen function. These include smartphones, tablets, handhelds, instruments, monitors and even television screens up to 80 inch diagonal. NuShield currently has film sizes for over 15,000 devices and new ones are added based on end-user requirements. The company sells directly to end users and works with manufacturers, distributors and resellers around the world.
