What Good is a Fishfinder without a NuShield Antireflective Screen Protector

The calendar says it July and the lakes, rivers and ocean are teaming with fish so get out your rods, reels, hooks and pack them all up.  Clean up your boat and get it ready to go.

If you are adventurous then you might want to take part in the 2024 White Marlin Open tournament which will be held August 5th through 9th. This is a 50-plus-year-old deep-sea fishing tournament held annually in Ocean City, Maryland. The tournament awards prize money for catches of white marlin, blue marlin, tuna, wahoo, dolphin and swordfish. And the prize money is outrageous. In 2023, over $10 million dollars were awarded.

These anglers not only have to know the good fishing spots to catch the large ones, but they also rely on their electronic fishfinder instruments.  But the last thing on their mind should be eliminating the glare on the fish finder or GPS. And you probably have the same problem when you’re out on the water where most displays wash out in bright sunlight, making it hard to read the screen and see where the fish are hiding.

The best was to solve this problem is to install a special screen protector film over the display that will make the display visible again and also protect the screen from damage by the constant sunlight. The reduction of the sun’s glare will allow you see which way to point the boat and you’ll still be able to read the screen. How many times did you try to cover the display with one hand while steering with the other? And if you wear polarized sunglasses you have to take them off every time you look at the screen.

The NuShield DayVue antireflective film cuts down glare from the sun and gives your fish finder a level of protection that is not possible with factory coatings. The film does all of the hard work, including protection from scratching, smudging and it is even resistant to oil and other petroleum-based products. And if you are a salt water fisherman, the salty spray from the sea will no longer scrape or wear away the original protective coating. And if you wear polarized sunglasses you’ll find that the screen will still be visible.

The film has a tacky rubberized backing that is easy to apply. NuShield has many sizes to fit virtually any LCD displays found on fish finders, onboard GPS systems, tablets, laptops, and even your television. Just press it on, smooth it out and push out any bubbles trapped beneath the film. That’s it!

NuShield has led the field in screen protection, glare reduction and scratch safety for over 20 years. We currently provide film sizes for over 15,000 devices, ranging from smartphones to large television displays and we add new sizes every day as new devices with different sized screens become available.

Remember, you can’t escape the sun on the open water. Protecting your electronic display from sun damage is essential for a good captain. From scratches, salt water and glare, the NuShield DayVue film is the best way to help your GPS last longer. That is just smart boating.

Why wait? Get your fish protector ready for the season and order your screen protector today. Can’t find your model or size, contact us with your model and size, and we will cut a screen protector to fit for you.

Your GPS display Can Be a Hazard in an Accident

Almost all cars sold today come with an entertainment or GPS system. The screen size of these devices can be as large as a laptop such as the one on the Tesla Model 3. While it is great to view a screen without squinting at the screen while driving, these displays can also become a hazard during a crash. Depending on the impact of the collision the shards of the display can fly everywhere and can injure you or your passengers. The larger the display, the greater the risk.

Take In an Airshow This Summer

Airshows are always a great joy to watch, and they make us wonder how the pilots are able to pull off such jaw-dropping stunts. The Geico Skytypers’ crew conducts air shows across the country using 6 vintage WW II aircraft to achieve advanced maneuverability techniques. They combine the flexibility of these aircraft with current advanced navigation systems in order to achieve precise positioning and maneuverability. The challenge is even greater when performing across large water bodies where there are no landmarks to guide with navigation. For a full list of the 2022 air show schedule look here: Air Show Schedule in US.

Pilots of the Geico Skytypers team utilize the NuShield DayVue antireflective films to be able to clearly see the displays on their navigation systems. These protective films help them achieve enhanced visibility and to execute their routines with accuracy that is to the letter. For the Skytypers team, precision is everything. The pilots need to quickly and easily see what is being displayed on their navigation equipment in order to know where to navigate and how to respond to any issues that may arise. The cockpit is fully exposed to the sun at any given time, which causes glare and reflections to be emitted from GPS devices. In addition, the protective equipment such as masks that these pilots wear tends to reduce visibility when viewing navigation devices.

The Geico Skytypers team has found that using the NuShield DayVue films eliminates distractive glares and reflections from navigation devices in their aircraft. These antireflective films are specifically designed to reduce glare from the display of navigation devices. The clarity on the display of the navigation equipment is not affected by the protective film, and pilots can enjoy the protection of the film on both daytime and night flights.

The NuShield DayVue film can be pre-cut to size to fit on many different devices. The films are available for devices that are up to 80 inches in diagonal length. It is also very easy to install because it uses a rubber tacky backing to adhere to the display, as opposed to glue adhesives. The films do not trap air, making it easy to push out air bubbles simply by using a finger.

In addition, the NuShield DayVue films also support many different GPS manufacturers, such as Adventure Pilot, Aviation Safety, and Northstar. With navigation equipment becoming more advanced and making use of tablets and other portable devices, the Geico Skytypers team can use the NuShield protective film as the perfect add-on for preventing glare and reflections from these devices while in the cockpit.

NASCAR Restarts 2020 Racing Season

The 2020 NASCAR Season revved up again on May 17 at Darlington Raceway with a star-studded lineup of drivers.

We congratulate Kevin Harvick who won the race with the NuShield Triple A anti-glare screen protector on board. This is the fifth year that the Stewart-Haas team is using the NuShield Triple A film to eliminate glare from the McClaren Digital Race Dash instrument panel. Just like you, racecar drivers need to maintain a clear view of the road and their digital instrument panel. They also fight sun glare coming in from the side windows and reflecting onto the panel during the day. When you are driving in excess of 170 mph you only have time to quickly glance at the display. Are Sun Glare Related Accidents Under-Reported?

By Jane Graham

Sun glare is responsible for just a few hundred auto accidents every year, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The AAA, on the other hand, argues that sun glare is a contributing factor to thousands of accidents annually. Either way, there’s no denying that the GPS navigation system in your car on a sunny day significantly increases your chances of being involved in an accident. But are these systems combined with the sun really to blame for numerous auto accidents on America’s roads each year?
