Stewart-Haas Nascar Team Gets an Edge with NuShield Triple A™ anti-glare screen protectors on Racing Car’s Digital Dash Panels
August 3, 2016Everyone knows that glare from the sun or other light sources makes driving more dangerous. Glare can temporarily blind drivers, causing them to miss important visual cues on the road. In serious cases, the instinct to cover the eyes or avoid the source of the bright light may cause a car to lose control.

Use Your Phone at the Gym? Here’s One Accessory You Can’t Live Without
June 29, 2015Even the most dedicated workout enthusiast runs the risk of facing boredom at the weight rack, or fatigue on the treadmill. That’s why when it comes to renewing focus, there are few better gym buddies than the Smartphone.
You know: The source of your best music playlists and podcasts, not to mention those hilarious YouTube videos that make you snort the sort of laughter that earns you weird looks from the rest of the gym.
Sure, you could tackle those miles on the treadmill (or the endless repetitions of squats) without your phone. But wouldn’t that make the whole workout experience roughly a million times more tedious? Also, it would also prevent you from updating Facebook and Instagram with those motivational selfies.
Or to put it another way: Taking good care of that little rectangle of tech known as your Smartphone screen is super important, especially if you go to the gym on even a semi-frequent basis.
Why is a Screen Protector Essential for Boat Televisions
April 16, 2014Written By [php snippet=1]
The old adage about “boats being holes in the water, where the owner throws money” has, if anything, become even more apt with the advent of upmarket consumer electronics. Marine satellite trackers that remain signal-locked underway, boosted antennas which collect the same amount of signal as their old-fashioned, outsize cousins, multi-stateroom entertainment systems, humidity- and corrosion-resistant speakers, all add immeasurably to the boating experience. But the sums they subtract from the old bank balance can be equally conspicuous.
Flat-Screen Pros and Cons
Flatscreen television technology is a lifesaver for all who live or vacation in relatively compact spaces. That said — like everything else, it seems — those flatscreen TVs manufactured for on-vessel applications, as opposed to equivalents aimed at regular residential markets, are vastly more expensive.
And there are the add-ons. Both conventional pedestals and brackets, and ultramodern servomotor-driven lifts (which accommodate TVs inside other furniture, first driving them into the viewing area, then retracting them), must be made with marine application in mind. Wave motion creates a great deal of stress, so mounting systems have to be cushioned from vibration as well as protected against moisture and salt ingression.
Nonetheless, for many, a flatscreen TV is now a boating must. Imagine this disappointment: an owner has a wonderful, hi-def surround-sound system installed, then checks it out in port when he gets to his boat Friday evening. Everything’s fine. Next day, when it’s time to while away an hour at anchor admiring his new purchase, all he gets is a funhouse hall-of-mirrors; a chaotic reflection of everything else in his environment.
What happened?
The Glare Gremlin
The myriad light sources inside a cabin — from unshielded exterior doors and hatches, windows and portholes to brightwork, chrome trim and brass fixtures — can all serve to overwhelm a flatscreen’s backlighting, particularly in daytime.
All that’s left visible on-screen may be a series of mirrored images. To fix this, the TV must be retrofitted with an anti glare screen protector.
Why Is a Screen Protector Recommended?
It’s imperative to use the correct tool for any job on board. It’s thus important to understand what an anti glare screen protector does:
- Anti glare films scatter reflected light, effectively disintegrating echo-images by diffusing sources of luminescence, and the brightly-lit objects observed on mirror-like screen surfaces. The NuShield® Triple A™ anti glare film is an excellent option and it also provides anti fingerprint protection as well.
- If the TV is mounted topside and is viewed outdoors in sunlight, then the NuShield DayVue™ anti reflective screen protector is the correct solution. Anti reflective films cancel reflected light, meaning they diminish reflectance across most of the spectrum visible to humans. They’re used to maximize screen visibility in outdoor environments, where intense ambient light can overwhelm LCD backlighting, making the screen appear dark. The DayVue anti reflective film even works when you and your guests are wearing polarized sunglasses on deck. And the DayVue film can also be used on LCD instrument panels outside to make them visible in sunlight.
Both anti glare and anti reflective film types provide excellent protection from bounced-back UVB ultra violet rays, and protect screens from scratches. For flatscreen TVs that are watched indoors, even inside a boat, anti glare products are required. For screens located in the bridge or cockpit, the anti reflective screen protectorworks better.
Importance of Optimization
Flat-screen TVs aren’t just for watching satellite-broadcast news/entertainment programming. Charter captains can review catches with current clients, or use footage to advertise their skills to potential contractors. With some multifunction accessories, it’s even possible to view navigational equipment’s output as a screen-in-screen display on satellite-hooked TVs anywhere on the boat.
Here’s a checklist of what’s necessary for successful onboard viewing:
- Reception device (typically a satellite receiver)
- Marine-grade flatscreen TV
- Waterproof speakers
- Anti glare (for indoor use) or anti reflective (for outdoor use) screen protection
NuShield manufactures both anti glare and anti reflective screen protector films. Their products are ideal for use in all situations, including the strenuous environment of marine boating. NuShield is the only manufacturer offering film up to 80-inches (diagonal), and can custom-cut any order size to that maximum.

NuShield’s Anti Reflective Screen Protectors Improve Your Golf Practice
April 1, 2014Written By [php snippet=1]
Thanks to the advancements in practical technology, golfers now have the tools to improve their golf games through applications on their smart phone, laptop or tablet. Some of these applications allow them to capture video of their swings to show ways in which they can improve their game. However, since golfers use these applications on the driving range, sunlight blocks the displays not allowing outdoor screens visibility. This is where the NuShield® DayVue™ anti reflective screen protector film saves the day.
Benefits of The NuShield DayVue Anti Reflective Screen Protector for Golfers
The NuShield DayVue anti reflective screen protector makes it easier for golfers to use their mobile devices on the course by reducing screen reflections. In addition to stopping the screen from looking more like a mirror than a viewer, the NuShield DayVue anti reflective screen protector film has other benefits.
- Prevents a smart phone, laptop or tablet’s display from scratching, due to everyday use.
- Allows easy fingerprint cleaning so golfers see a clear view of their screen when they record or watch video and tutorials.
- Ability for the golfer to wear polarized sunglasses and still see the screens clearly.
- The tacky adhesive is easy to install and remove. Film sizes can fit a wide variety of devices.
Combined, these benefits make the anti reflective screen protector an appealing buy for golfers.
Customer Review of NuShield Products
While standard anti glare films darken the screen outdoors, only the NuShield DayVue anti reflective film allows users to view their electronic devices in this environment. Due to their efficiency, the DayVue received positive reviews from customers. Kitti Ford-Scholz from Kanehoe, Hawaii, says that the NuShield products are fantastic and that she recommends these anti reflective screen protectors to all iPad users.
Ultimately, the new developments in mobile applications are making it easier for golfers to improve their game. However, since these applications are used outdoors it’s important that golfers have anti reflective films on their devices to view their display effectively. The NuShield DayVue anti reflective screen protector film is easy to install, it allows the user to see the display and not a self reflection, and it can protect the surface of the phone, laptop or tablet from incurring scratches. The result is a great film protector that helps golfers view their displays clearly, so they can work on improving their game.
See the Difference
The difference is clear when you view a smartphone, camera, tablet, or laptop with and without the DayVue Anti Reflective films side by side outside. The best test is one you do yourself on a sunny day. Once you see the difference, you will wonder how you ever used these devices without the film covering before.
